Bora Bora

When Alex first started mixing in 1999 he could only dream about achieving so much so quick. After buying his first set of decks and teaching him himself how to mix, Alexs proficiency grew through sheer hard work and determination. Fast forward to the end of 2006 and in the last 7 years Alex has plied his trade throughout the top West End clubs of London, gradually breaking into becoming a regular on the house party scene with residencies at Clockwork Orange, and finally led to being asked to play for Bora Bora in Ibiza Summer 2004 was the real launch for his career when he stepped in for a cancellation at Londons Pacha nightclub, playing alongside Andy Manston & Ant Packham. Suffice to say the promoters were impressed enough with the superb technical skills and ability to work the crowd to offer a permanent slot. 4 more gigs followed at Pacha on the same bill as DJs Richard F (Subliminal)& Bobby and Steve and the gigs were flowing thick and fast, early gigs included Londons White House on New Years Day and Turnmills. The bigger the gigs the more Alex was rising to the occasion, March Bank Holiday he played to a packed Cross Club alongside Tall Paul and further gigs at Pacha, Canvas and Turnmills followed Just one guest slot for Bora Bora in Ibiza led to him being offered a daily residents slot at the infamous Beach bar and then resulted in a string of offers of gigs around the world. 2006 summer season saw Alex into his 2nd year as resident, his fame in Ibiza growing by the day he was then asked to play at the biggest club in the world Privilege for Xtravaganza and John Aquavivas nights, and topped off the season by playing at El Divinos closing party "Playing 7 days a week has really helped me to feel what the crowd wants, and I just want them to have the time of their life. As long as they enjoy the music as much as I enjoy giving it to them every party is special in my eyes. The focus should always be on the crowd and if you respond to their needs they normally respond to yours and you can take them where you want to go so you are all together.” Highlights of 2006 include playing at the 1st superclub in the UAE (Enigma, Abu Dhabi), Krakow and Warsaw in Poland, and a Spanish tour taking in 7 cities in 1.5 weeks! Not forgetting the entire summer season at Bora Bora and a new residency on the world tour with the world famous Smartie Partie.....sharing the decks with the likes of Danny Rampling, Tall Paul, Joey Negro, Erick Morillo, Harry Choo Choo Romero, Who Da Funk, CJ Mackintosh, John Aquaviva..... With such a meteoric rise, 2007 looks set to be Alex's for the taking, with a packed diary of international dates including clubbing hotsopts Dubai, Austria, Poland and Spain and residencies at Smartie Partie and Xtravaganza at Space Ibiza, The future certainly looks bright and should give hope to other aspiring DJs that dreams can be achieved with the right passion and determination, combined with rather a large amount of skill.
